JOB PURPOSE:
Receives cash/processes credit card transactions from customers or employees in payment for food and beverage goods and services.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs accurate and timely registering of cash sales or complimentary meal (non-cash) sales.
- Computes bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due. Enters billing information into cash register as required.
- Makes change and issues receipts to customers.
- Verifies signature authority in all credit memorandums.
- Totals receipts, at end of shift, to verify sales and clear cash register.
- Operates cash register by entering cost data as required to record price, complies printed list and display cost of customer purchase and tax on monitor screen.
- Deposits sales of previous days daily
- Maintains an inventory of snack bar items
- Maintains organization and appearance of register area and stocked supplies on an ongoing basis.
- Maintains cleanliness and order in food and beverage outlet by cleaning shelves, counters, and tables.
- Assists when able with cleaning, tables, stacking, trash, floors and trays.
- Prepares and processes invoices, financial paperwork, office paperwork, and purchasing orders.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment; complies with all safety regulations regarding the use of equipment, guards and other devices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Cash handling and customer service
- Food Handlers Certification.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Must be able to pass background check, with NO prior convictions of any felonies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of cashier operations.
- Knowledge of basic math and arithmetic.
- Knowledge of cash handling.
- Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment and POS system.
- Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness of outlet.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the Navajo and English language.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for prolonged periods, walk and sit.
- Use hands for dexterity of motion.
- Stoop, bend, kneel or crouch.
- Have normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is typically performed within Snack Bar environment with loud noises.
- Exposure to heat, cold, fumes and steam.
- Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
- Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
